What do u think???
I have an oral presentation tomorrow...... for my African Mask
wat do u think.....please revise or give me ideas on how to make it better!!! (I would appreciate it being longer too!)
Thank you so much!!!!:
The mask I made came from the African Punu Tribe. The African Punu tribal masks are painted white to represent the spirits of the dead ancestors during funerals. Some of the masks also represented the beauty of the Punu women. To make my mask, I applied a paper mache mix of newspaper, water, and flour on a balloon and once it dried I popped the balloon. Then, I covered the mask with plaster on the outside and inside so that it was sturdy enough. I painted it a crème color to make it look aged. Over that, I painted it darker in certain places and added mecca flakes when it was still wet. Also, to make the top of it, I used hand-made paper and added a metallic gold paint to it. I folded it and then stuck it through the top.
Good, its quite descriptive.
Can you say more about what the masks mean to the Africans? Like what do the Punu tribes actually make their masks out of? what do the symbols and colours mean to them?
That may flesh it out a bit more.
Otherwise that's a clear explanation of how you made it, I can almost imagine it.
