Reality check for you:
Lieberman did not dump the Democrats. They dumped him!
When he ran for re-election in 2006, the Democrats did not support him. They withdrew support from him, and nominated another candidate instead.
Why? Because he dared to oppose the party line on ONE issue, namely the Iraq war. (So much for Democrats being the "champions of tolerance.")
So he ran for re-election as an Independent -- and he won!
Calling Lieberman "bat droppings" is like blaming a rape victim for her own rape.
It was the Dems who threw Lieberman under a bus two years ago -- and now you're saying that HE is the heavy here???
Bottom line: Republicans are far more tolerant of party members who do not always toe the party line, than Democrats are.
The Democrat Party's shameful treatment of Lieberman -- one of the most respected politicians in recent memory -- is proof of that.
